Picked by Preview

Yvette and I are very happy indeed to be featured in the October 2007 issue of Preview magazine, on this year's "Creative 'It' List." :) According to the feature's intro, the list "rounds up a list of 26 bona fide talents that have earned distinction in their respective fields, and helped set the standards for artistic excellence." Woo hoo! We're especially delighted to be in the company of many people we genuinely admire, such as dynamic duo Marcushiro and Bru (a.k.a. Electrolychee), musical genius Malek Lopez, director Marie Jamora, production outfit Furball, singer Sitti, and some long-haired filmmaker named Kidlat de Guia, among many others. Thanks to Preview and to everyone involved!

Kudos on the mention! I'm curious to see who else was mentioned but Summit isn't too fond of making their magazine content available online (something they should reconsider really).

Thanks Charles, thanks wysgal! :) Would like to list the others here, but, um, I left my copy of the magazine with my Mom. ;p

It's a good list though, and I'm not saying that just because we're on it. And the accompanying text seems to be more substantial this time around.

As for putting magazine content online, that's a whole 'nother fascinating topic, which I should probably write a proper blog post about. It's something I've been thinking about a lot over the past year or so, as the Reviews Editor of a print music magazine AND the Editor-in-Chief of an online music magazine.

I also read Making Magazines and We Love Magazines recently, so the present state and near future of magazines are topics very much on my mind.

Congratulations, Sir. Luis. Can't wait to grab a copy of Preview. I buy every month, but right now I'm hibernating so wasn't able to get one right away. On a side note, Ma'am Chingbee Cruz was featured there a few months ago (I forgot which) when her new book came out.
By the way, been searching the net for your blogs. Do you have any other, aside from this one?
Thanks!

Hi Shan! Wonderful to hear from you. :) Chingbee has a new book? Will look for it. I had the honor of designing the cover for her first one, "Dark Hours." :)

I have acounts on livejournal and Multiply, but I almost never update the livejournal and the Multiply blog basically just mirrors this one. Have been thinking of putting up my own site though.

Hope you enjoyed the article and thanks for dropping by! :)

Hi, Sir! I was referring to "Dark Hours." It must've been just newly published when the Preview article was written, hence I called it "new." :) I have a copy and I love it. Great cover design, by the way. (wink, wink)
